Folk in Black

So last night i got to gether with Dave Heather Eric and Carolyn. Hadn't seen the later two in a bit, always good folks.

Went to see Walk the Line. Was good.

Before hand we went to mi ranchos. Now, i am a glutton, and i will eat almost anything. But amoung all the myriad of choice, i would choose mexican last. Luckly they had cerviche.

I also tried their sangria, which came in a lovely glass with fruit. Eric questioned my drink, proclaiming that i was a bit straight for it.

Now along with the myriad of food, i also ejoya wide variety of drinks. And I love weird colored concotions in improbable glasses. With an umbrella, if possible. So festive. Im an islander in spirit. Plus it clashes well with my clothes.

To which eric pantomimes. Ok, so you have this blue dink with and umbrella and someone walks up to you and asks what is it you reply (in a gothy voice) "Cthulu's Breath"

And it got me to thinking...

I love squid, especailly this specific asian spiced squid strips. So

Cthulu's Breath Mark 1

Rim glass with Old Bay
Garnish with strips of squid: in the glass, over the glass

Mix in shaker:
One part Pepper Vodka
Two part Favorite Bloody Mary Mix
Seasoning to taste (Salt, pepper, spice the squid came in, lemon juice, lime juice, Worchester, horseradish etc)

Pour in Glass
Pour ice over

Add Celery, Lemon, Lime, Umbrella etc.

Maybe it should be a Bloody Cthulu. I dunno. I find bloody mary drinkers even worse than traditional martini drinkers when it comes to having there drink 'just so'. More customizable points too. I have even seen someone role steak sauce in it. Also, you got to mix it first and thin it so the Bloody Mary Mix doesnt sit on top of the ice. Thats also why i put in the ice last, which you dont really do in any other drink.

Ok, so it isnt blue. But if i put enough ridiculous garnishes on it... plus the fun of slirping squid bits out of it like spagetti...
